Scholarships
The Patrol Fund Community Scholarship has been established by the ski patrol at Whitefish Mountain Resort to promote wilderness medicine and/or snow safety education in the community. The fund offers five different scholarships annually. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to support winter enthusiasts and professionals in pursuing upper level wilderness medicine and avalanche education.
Scholarship Awards
The recipients of The Patrol Fund Community Scholarship are awarded the cost of the course tuition and fees. Lodging and food costs are not included. Applicants may apply for one course per season.
Courses available for application include:

Wilderness First Aid — offered through Aerie Backcountry Medicine.

Wilderness First Responder — offered through Aerie Backcountry Medicine.

Level I Avalanche — offered through The Patrol Fund, Inc.

Level I Avalanche (Ladies Only) — offered through The Patrol Fund, Inc.
Qualifications
Applicants must reside in Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, or Glacier counties
Applicants must meet the prerequisites for the course to which they want to attend
Applicants must be 15 years or older
Applicants may not be members of the WMR Ski Patrol or family members of the WMR Ski Patrol.

All application materials must be emailed to info@thepatrolfund.org, or delivered in person to the Summit Patrol HQ, by December 16th, 2024. Applicants must submit:

One letter of reference
A current resume
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Scholarship recipients will be notified via email by January 2nd, 2025.
