Level I Avalanche Course

$390

Due to unforeseen changes in our overhead costs, we have no choice but to raise course prices. We remain committed to providing quality, affordable, at-cost avalanche education to the community but unfortunately there was no way around this price increase. We also remain committed to keeping our 5:1 student to instructor ratio, lower than the American Avalanche Association’s maximum ratio of 6:1. Thank you for your continued support of the Patrol Fund.

The Level I avalanche course is an interactive program covering the fundamentals of avalanche hazards including awareness and stability assessments. This course consists of approximately 40% classroom learning time and 60% in-the-field study. Instructors and students travel in and around avalanche terrain.
